PROJECT: DINING NOOK

This custom woodworking project was designed to optimize a combined living room and kitchen space, blending functionality and storage. The wrap-around bench creates a cozy dining nook, providing seating for guests while making the most of a small area.

Each bench features hidden storage compartments, ideal for bedding and off-season clothes. A built-in mechanism ensures the lids stay open for easy packing and access. The bench design employs a tile-inspired wood pattern that mirrors the adjacent square kitchen tile, creating a cohesive aesthetic with the fabric above.

A wood shelf caps the nook, adding display space, while the accompanying table incorporates a circular cutout where the legs join—a recurring design that ties the furniture together with other pieces in the home. This project combines design with practical solutions to create a space that is both inviting and efficient.
